What to bring on a river cruise
To enjoy the holidays, carrying the right things in your luggage is very important. But if in addition to going on vacation, you are going to stay on board a ship, surely you are more worried.
In this post we answer your questions.
Whether it's your first river cruise or you've done one before, we review the must-haves to take on your river vacation.
How should be the suitcases that you take to the river boat?
Do not forget that the capacity of both the boat and its cabinets is limited.
Think carefully about what you are going to take and try to transport the clothes in flexible suitcases that are easier to store than rigid ones.
Choose soft foldable travel bags better than suitcases
What will I find on board the ship?
In all the cabins you have the bedding prepared except in the Bugdet models that we will notify you.
on board you have blankets, pillows and sheets in an amount commensurate with the number of people on board.
If your boat has convertible beds, they will be prepared individual or matrimonial according to your preferences. Don't forget to let us know.
Also, in the living room you have cushions and curtains to make it cozy and comfortable.
In most cases you will find large and small towels for each passenger on board your riverboat (there are no beach towels). If they are not included, you can bring your own or rent them on the day of boarding. Ask us.
The kitchen has everything you may need: fridge, stove, gas oven and kitchen utensils such as dishes, pots, and pans. The most modern and high-end boats also have an iron on the deck and a microwave.
Safety and mooring equipment
On board your boat you also have the safety and mooring equipment:
- a ball
- life jackets for each passenger
- we provide life jackets for children
- a first aid kit
- a fire extinguisher
- documentation and river guide of the waterways to consult during the cruise
Power supply, radio and CD player on most boats.
All ships have 12 volt plugs (like the ones you would use in a car) that can be used to plug in the mobile phone adapter cable or any other low power equipment.
Some models also have 110 / 210V / 220V plugs (you will need an adapter for each country you are visiting.)
On most boats, these plugs only provide power when you sail at least 4/5 hours a day. Otherwise you must be connected to the port plugs.
We recommend you bring a power strip from home, so you can plug in several devices at the same time
Some ships have safe deposit boxes. Use them to store your valuables if you leave the ship.
In any case, all ships are locked when leaving.
We provide you with a bucket and a mop to clean the bridge top of the boat. You'll find tie pegs and a hammer.
Depending on the model of the boat you have rented, we also provide you with chairs and a table for the upper deck and a parasol.
